american presbytery short report for

January 18-19, 2005

Fellsmere, Florida

Prepared by Rev. Geoffrey Donnan

After the election of the meeting officers, and the introduction of one denominational guest, reports were heard from the four of our five churches (First Presbyterian Church of Suriname being excused). Pastor Wagner, of the American Presbyterian Church gave a report on the ministry and distinctives of his denomination. Pastors Frank Smith and Geoff Donnan reported on the various contacts made with potential mission church works.

As part of its business, the CRPC now refers to its presbytery meetings as the American Presbytery. A committee was appointed to discuss matters regarding the procedures of the American Presbytery. A public statement was approved on Auburn Avenue Theology for the web. The working draft for the Society of Presbyteries and Reformed Churches ( SPARC) was approved. Final approval was given to the new Constitution for the CRPC, with completed footnotes. Discussion also took place on the changes and postings that were needed for the CRPC website. It was also decided that the next American Presbytery meeting would be held in Sheboygan, Wisconsin on November 1-2, 2005.
